System Training

Individuals have different learning styles. At AviNeering we respect this and strive to offer training that is compatible with the personal learning characteristics of each student. Our courses are often performed in small groups where the main focus is practical understanding of system operation.

The system specific training we provide is commonly performed on conjuction with installation and commissioning. Factory Training, On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Site training being the most common type of training.

Instrument Landing System (ILS)

  • Instrument Landing System (ILS) is a ground-based radio navigation system that provides guidance to aircraft in the final stage of a flight, allowing safe landings in poor weather conditions. The ILS training delivered by AviNeering focuses on the INDRA ILS and is designed for personnel operating and maintaining the ILS. Upon successful completion of the ILS training, the students shall have the required knowledge and practical skills to be able to safely operate and maintain the ILS in an ATM/CNS environment.

The course can be delivered at AviNeering’s training facility or at the client premises. The length of the course may vary with the numbers of students.

    Composition of ILS Training:

    • ILS Theory

    • Concept of the system (NORMARC)

    • Transmitter; alignment, description and adjustments

    • Localizer Antenna System

    • Glide Path Antenna System

    • Installation and Configuration of the system

    • Maintenance

    • Far Field Monitor

    • Flight Check

    • Marker Beacon

Doppler VHF Omni Directional Range (DVOR)

  • A DVOR is a ground-based radio navigation system used to aid aircraft in flight by transmitting a VHF radio signal from which the aircraft can determine their position and direction from. The DVOR training delivered by AviNeering focuses on the INDRA DVOR system and is designed for personnel operating and maintaining the DVOR. Upon successful completion of the training, the student shall have the required knowledge and practical skill to be able to safely operate and maintain the ILS in an ATM/CNS environment.

The course can be delivered at AviNeering’s training facility or at the client premises. The length of the course may vary with the numbers of students.

    Composition of the DVOR Training:

    • DVOR Theory

    • DVOR Subsystems

    • Control and Monitoring

    • Remote Maintenance and Monitoring (RMM)

    • Maintenance

    • Installation

    • Flight Check

Distance Measuring Equipment (DME)

  • DME is a ground-based radio navigation system that measures the distance between an aircraft and the ground system and is often installed together with ILS and DVOR systems to provide both distance and direction. The DME training delivered by AviNeering focuses on the Indra DME system and is designed for personnel operating and maintaining DME. Upon successful completion of the training, the student shall have the required knowledge and practical skill to be able to safely operate and maintain the DME in an ATM/CNS environment.

The course can be delivered at AviNeering’s training facility or at the client premises. The length of each course may vary with the number of students.

    Composition of the DME Training:

    • DME Theory

    • DME Subsystems

    • Control and Monitoring

    • Remote Maintenance and Monitoring (RMM)

    • Maintenance

    • Installation
